Musixmatch Introduces A Language Translator Service To Its Music Lyrics App On iOS And Android

It’s been a year since  we talked about Musixmatch; a third party app that helps you appreciate some of your favourite songs better by letting you see the lyrics of just about any song on Apple Music but now they have expanded to other platforms like Spotify which is currently the biggest  of them all by subscriber base. We tried it out last year and it was amazing to see lyrics to just about any song we played including some of our local African tracks. Well the company announced  a language translator earlier today . Thus means instead of actually seeing the lyrics to some of those things Wyclef says in French sometimes, you would now be able to see the meaning as well in this new update to the lyrics service.

“Millions of people use Musixmatch to enjoy lyrics in languages that are not their native tongue. To give you an idea, more than 45% of our users come from non-English speaking countries. We believe that people can understand other cultures in a better way through lyrics — that’s why we are introducing Lyrics Translations…..We live in a world of misunderstandings. By reading lyrics that have been translated into your mother tongue you will get the key into understanding a foreign language and a foreign culture. Different languages have different melodies, and composers benefit from this and use lyrics to send a message. Now that you can see in Musixmatch this message translated in the language you want, and you can expand your vocabulary and your culture.”

This won’t be the first platform to consider translation as a service as Skype introduced this to  its over 600 million users last year. Google also announced a similar service in its Translate app which had recorded over 100 million users on Android alone as of January, 2015. Tech companies are all looking to make interactions seamless across the world for multi lingual users.

Here’s a link to the Musixmatch site and they have said the lyrics translate service will come to Android and iOS users in a matter of days.
