This magnificent collaborative marriage between consoles has been made possible by the developer of the famed N64 emulator available on Windows. Excitingly, he announced that his application will also be compatible with Xbox One – a ground-breaking move indeed! Currently, the app is exclusively accessible on the consoles of Xbox One Preview members only.
However, it’s important to note that not all players can jump straight into nostalgia-fueled gaming just yet. The emulating app, designed to bring classic Nintendo 64 games to Xbox One, is not currently purchasable directly from the Xbox store. Microsoft is yet to provide an option for the developer to directly publish the app to the store. However, dedicated gamers can still navigate around this hiccup. The application, aptly named Win64e10, can be purchased through your Windows 10 PC or mobile device. Once purchased, it will become available in your ‘ready to install’ list on Xbox One. Priced at a reasonable $5.99, the app does not include any games but provides the ingenious option for players to sideload games from alternative storage sources.
The lingering question however, is whether Microsoft will further support this nostalgic gaming venture by allowing Win64e10 to feature on the Xbox store.
