Earlier today, Thursday, July 17, 2025, Airtel teamed up with Perplexity to provide all 360 million of its customers with a complimentary 12-month subscription to Perplexity Pro. Perplexity is a conversational language search and answer engine driven by artificial intelligence that provides users with real-time answers. It also used the medium to reveal a partnership with Perplexity that will provide all of its users with a complimentary subscription to the paid tier of the AI platform.
The telecom provider stated that all of its customers will have access to the Perplexity Pro plan via Wi-Fi, Direct-to-Home (DTH), and mobile (prepaid and postpaid). The complimentary subscription will last for a full year. All of the premium features of the AI-powered answer engine platform, including Perplexity Labs, additional daily Pro searches, the ability to switch between AI models, and more, are now available to Airtel subscribers.
The 360 million users of the company will receive this benefit. Users of Airtel will need to locate a new banner for Perplexity Pro and check in to the Thanks app in order to activate the complimentary membership. A new page highlighting the perks and plan duration is displayed when the banner is clicked.

More daily Pro searches per user, access to sophisticated AI models (such as GPT 4.1 and Claude) and the option to choose particular models, deep research, image generating, file uploads, and analysis are all included in Perplexity Pro. Perplexity Labs is a special tool that makes concepts come to life.
All Airtel subscribers (mobile, Wi-Fi, and DTH) can subscribe to Perplexity Pro for a year. Users of Airtel can access the Airtel Thanks App to take advantage of this promotion.
Users can then sign into their Perplexity account (or create a new one) by tapping the “Proceed” button. If users haven’t already, the app then lets them download it. As an alternative, users can use the app, which will automatically raise their status to the Pro tier.

Notably, users can use the platform using the web interface or mobile app, as the free subscription is linked to the Perplexity account. Additionally, they can utilize the platform without being linked to Airtel’s network.
Subscribers to Perplexity Pro enjoy a number of premium features that aren’t available to free users. These include the ability to access third-party AI models like GPT-4.1, o3, Claude 4 Sonnet and Claude 4 Sonnet Thinking, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 4, and the recently released Labs feature, which allows users to create spreadsheets, reports, and even web apps. There are also 300 pro searches available every day, as well as the opportunity to join the company’s Pro Discord channel.
The annual cost of Perplexity Pro is ₹17,000 (approximately $197.57) worldwide.
