Airtel Nigeria Launches Generous 60GB Free Data Bundle for Six Months Exclusive to Post-paid Subscribers

Airtel, Nigeria’s third-largest telecom service provider, never ceases to surprise its customers with some of the most advantageous data plans. Having previously offered its post-paid patrons 30GB of bonus data for a span of three months, they have recently rolled out an even bigger scoop: a promised offer of 60GB, valid for six months. So, if you missed their last deal, this one’s just what you need.

This beneficial offer is explicitly targeted toward post-paid customers of Airtel. To gain the free data, users are expected to download and install the Airtel TV app. Once installed, the network provider promises to credit an appealing 10GB of data to the user’s account monthly, totaling to an impressive 60GB over the course of six months. This offer is expected to activate within 24 hours of app installation, Airtel asserts.

Claiming the data plan: Step-by-step Guide

To avail of this generous 60GB free data deal, you will need to download the “My Airtel TV App”. While the offer is particularly aimed at post-paid subscribers, prospective customers can easily shift to the plan and download the requisite app either from the iOS store or Google’s Play Store.

How to enjoy the complimentary data package on the App

After successfully downloading and installing the ‘My Airtel TV App’, simply open it up. An advert banner bearing the words ‘claim free data’ should soon pop up. A user can then click on this banner and follow the slow-paced, easy-to-understand guidelines to activate their free 60GB data. The promised data is expected to reflect in the user’s account within 24 hours post-processing.

This exciting offer draws parallels with a previous offer of 30GB from Airtel requiring users to also download the ‘My Airtel TV’ app. A blessing for existing post-paid customers, the data was doled out at 10GB per month, for a span of three months. Initially rolled out as an extended holiday offer spanning from April to July, it amassed a significant following.

Based on the successful uptake of the offer, Airtel decided to relaunch the offer with an upgraded 60GB of free data. This is a strategic move designed to increase downloads of their newly launched ‘My Airtel TV’ app and capture a larger audience while the offer is still live.

For existing Airtel post-paid account holders, seizing this opportunity is as simple as download, set up, and browse.

Airtel is no newcomer to the content streaming landscape. They had previously launched a music subscription service, Wynk back in 2015. This service houses features that allow users to enjoy their favorite tunes even without active data. Although there’s scant data supporting its user-base growth since launch, the company’s foray into video streaming presents a promising outlook. Airtel’s privileged status as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) can help draw in exclusive content and partnerships, making it a viable contender in streaming services.

With the post-paid plan’s beneficial free data offer, Airtel has the potential to convert their considerable subscriber base into a dedicated customer base. More importantly, they can do so by simply allowing them to stream movies using the “free” data they offer.
