Prime members on Amazon will now have access to a larger musical catalogue on the platform together with ad-free listening to the top podcasts.

It would be recalled that earlier in the year, the company hiked its Premium Membership price  from $119 to $139 but has compensated the price rise with the addition of more benefits to the plan like a Grubhub+ membership.

Amazon has announced  that Prime members can now upgrade from accessing 2 million songs curated by experts to listening to all of Amazon Music’s 100 million songs on shuffle mode without any ads.

According to the company, the new update will allow users play any artist, album, or playlist on shuffle mode along with some All-Access playlists on demand.

The new update will also allow users have ad-free access to top podcasts from CNN, NPR, The New York Times, and ESPN like “Dr. Death,” “SmartLess,” and “Even the Rich.”

Users can now listen to Amazon Originals like “MrBallenPodcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories,” “Suspect: Vanished in the Snow,” “COLD Season Three: The Search for Sheree,” and the premier of “Baby, this is Keke Palmer” from NOPE actress Keke Palmer.

Also, Amazon will have a new interface for podcast previews, that allows allows users listen to short clips from the show, while swiping through them to discover new content.

It should be noted that podcast apps like Snpid have made use of AI-powered short previews to further fuel podcast discovery.

Users who are not interested in the default Amazon Music experience included with the Prime membership can switch to Amazon Prime Unlimited for $8.99/month or $89/year.

The Prime Unlimited gives users the access to all songs on-demand in HD (16-bit/44.1 kHz) and UHD 24-bit/44.1 to 192 kHz) quality across all devices.

This premium tier also offers millions of songs in the spatial audio format.
