Amazon launched Amazon Luna, a redesigned game streaming service, on Thursday. It now offers new, easy-to-learn multiplayer games that you can play with your phone. For Prime members, Amazon Luna is free of charge.
GameNight is the most significant addition to the service. It is a collection of over 25 local multiplayer games that are “designed to bring friends and family together in the living room,” according to Amazon.
Starting with “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg,” an AI voice-driven improv courtroom game where players create ridiculous characters, fabricate tales, and attempt to defend their testimonies in front of Judge Snoop Dogg, GameNight will showcase exclusive games created by Amazon Game Studios.
Other games in GameNight include “Clue,” “Tetris Effect: Connected,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Exploding Kittens 2,” “Draw & Guess,” “Angry Birds Flock Party,” and more.
With the addition of a selection of phone-compatible multiplayer games, Amazon probably hopes that Prime members would choose Luna for their upcoming game night or get-together.
Jeff Gattis, general manager of Amazon Luna, states in a press release that “GameNight further expands on the concept of easy access that is central to the new Luna, offering a selection of incredibly fun and approachable games that absolutely shine when played together with friends and family.” “No matter how good they are at gaming, anyone with a smartphone can jump right in and have a great time.”
“Hogwarts Legacy,” “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II,” “TopSpin 2K25,” and other blockbusters, well-known classics, and independent games are among the new titles that Luna offers access to. The same controller or mouse and keyboard are needed to play these games (and all other games not in the GameNight library) as they were prior to the redesign.
For $9.99 a month, gamers can sign up for Luna Premium, formerly known as Luna+, which gives them access to a wider selection of titles. Games like “EA SPORTS FC 25,” “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight” are accessible to those who have a premium subscription.
Luna also allows you to play games that require a controller, which may be linked by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi in the case of Amazon’s Luna Controller. Hogwarts Legacy, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be added to Amazon’s Luna collection in conjunction with the upgrade.
Due to these modifications, Luna is now an easy sell if you currently have a Prime membership. Boundaries may be a problem, but you get a premium Xbox game without a Game Pass subscription and free entertainment for your next gathering.
