Apple has introduced a new entry point into its latest smartphone lineup — the iPhone 17e, a lower-priced model designed to bring flagship-level features to a broader audience.
Starting at $599, the device becomes the most affordable member of the iPhone 17 family while still including many of the company’s newest hardware and software capabilities.
Pre-orders begin March 4, with availability starting March 11 in more than 70 countries and regions.
The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display and a new Ceramic Shield 2 front cover designed to improve scratch resistance and reduce glare.
It uses an aerospace-grade aluminium body and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Apple is also bringing back MagSafe support to the lower-priced model, enabling faster wireless charging and compatibility with magnetic accessories such as wallets, stands, and cases.

At its core is Apple’s latest A19 chip, built on advanced 3-nanometer technology and paired with a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for generative AI workloads and Apple Intelligence features.
The phone also includes Apple’s new C1X modem, offering faster connectivity while using less power, helping deliver all-day battery life.
iPhone 17e ships with iOS 26 and supports Apple Intelligence features including live translation, call screening, and on-screen visual understanding tools.
Apple equipped the device with a 48-megapixel Fusion camera capable of optical-quality 2× telephoto zoom and 4K Dolby Vision video recording.
Portrait processing has also been upgraded to automatically detect subjects and allow focus adjustments after capture.

One of the biggest changes is storage: the base model now starts at 256GB, double the previous generation at the same price.
Like higher-end models, the phone includes satellite-based emergency services, allowing users to send messages, contact roadside assistance, and share location without cellular coverage.
Fast charging over USB-C can reach about 50% in roughly 30 minutes, while MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging support up to 15W.
The iPhone 17e will be available in black, white, and soft pink colour options when sales begin later this month.
