Twitter’s CEO had claimed via tweets that Apple had threatened to take down the Twitter app from App Store. “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why,” he tweeted.

In new tweets that he shared on Wednesday, the Twitter boss has clarified that Apple never considered taking down the app from its App Store.

Elon Musk said he visited Apple’s CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday and the meeting ended with clarity. This was a significant meeting as days before, Elon Musk posted a meme suggesting that he would rather ‘go to war’ than pay the 30 percent fees required by Apple.

In his tweet, Elon Musk wrote that “Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.”

In another tweet, the Twitter CEO posted a short video showing the pool at the center of Apple Park in Cupertino, California; proof that he really was there.

The latest development comes days after Elon Musk shared several tweets that criticized Apple and its store moderation policies. Elon Musk argued that Apple’s store moderation policies were against the spirit of free speech. Let’s not forget that last weekend, the billionaire ‘threatened’ that he may make his own phone.

App makers are required by Apple to pay between 15 percent and 30 percent of the sales of digital products sold via their apps. Elon Musk is grooming Twitter Blue to become a new source of income for the company by raising money from subscriptions. This would require him to pay a commission to Apple, thereby losing millions of dollars to Apple because of this policy. “Did you know Apple puts a secret 30 percent tax on everything you buy through their App Store?” Elon Musk shared on Monday.
