Apple’s WWDC22 Is Set For June 6th-10th As A Virtual Event

Apple announces that its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is around the corner and of course, this year will be delivering a phenomenal online experience. This will mark the third all-virtual version of the show, which has traditionally been held in person at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. The event is slated to happen on the 6th – 10th of June. However, all sessions of the event will be hosted live at Apple Park on the 6^th of June, which will have some developers and students live watching the keynote and State of the Union videos together, along with the online community. Details on how to participate and be part of it would be shared “soon.”

VP Susan Prescott said in a statement, “At its heart, WWDC has always been a forum to create connection and build community. In that spirit, WWDC22 invites developers from around the world to come together to explore how to bring their best ideas to life and push the envelope of what’s possible. We love connecting with our developers, and we hope all of our participants come away feeling energized by their experience.”

The first-ever WWDC was held in 1983 with the introduction of Apple Basic, but it wasn’t until 2002 that Apple started using the conference as a major launchpad for new products and services. WWDC is traditionally an event that details Apple’s forthcoming software updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS and much more. According to The Verge last year particularly, Apple showcased a range of improvements to its already existing applications and services. This includes the SharePlay support for FaceTime, the ability to store IDs in digital form in Apple Wallet, widget support for iPadOS, and a new privacy feature with its iCloud Plus subscription service.

As said the WWDC isn’t entirely focused on software updates and improvements. In past events, Apple lovers have witnessed the announcements of the new Mac Pro and HomePod and updated to the iMacs and iPad Pro. At the 2021 conference, one of the highlights was Apple’s announcements on the transition of the Mac lineup to its own processors. It is 2022, the WWDC22 is on its way, rumours say the  M2 processor is probably coming this year, chances are we may get to see or hear about the new chip at WWDC22?.
