The demolished and historic Awolowo House in Ikeja, Lagos which is a symbol of innovation since 1978 is being rebuilt as the Awolowo Technology Mall, a state-of-the-art technology hub.
Wemabod and El-Salem Nigeria Limited collaborated on the new mall, which is intended to honour and preserve the legacy of renowned nationalist Chief Obafemi Awolowo, according to a release.
From 4,800 square meters to nearly 9,000 square meters, the Awolowo Technology Mall will more than double the area of commercial space that was previously accessible at Awolowo House. The mall will act as a gathering place for leading IT firms, allowing them to showcase and promote the newest information and communication systems and technologies, according to Mr. Ben Gbade Ojo, Managing Director of El-Salem Nigeria Limited.
“This is a location where top ICT specialists gather and establish stores and offices, where ICT training is conducted by international ICT experts, and where ICT problems find well-tailored solutions and ICT puzzles find ready answers,” Ojo said.

Following a recent analysis by data analytics company Statisense that named Lagos the world’s fastest-growing emerging technology ecosystem in 2025, the Awolowo Technology Mall was developed. According to analysts, the mall would strengthen Lagos’ position as the world’s leading centre for technology.
Analysts pointed out that the continuous construction of the stunning Awolowo Technology Mall, which is already desired by top technology companies, will further cement Lagos’ already widely recognised position as a major global technology hub.
