Africa’s technological rise in the past decade is unmistakable, with the continent experiencing skyrocketing expansion in its tech sector. According to Deloitte, the exponential growth in this field has seen the emergence of distinct market leaders, pouring an optimistic outlook on Africa’s future. What’s fascinating is that an awe-inspiring 880 million residents are now connected via telephone lines, a testament to the continent’s embracing of technology and digital advancements. More compelling is the prediction that approximately 330 million Africans will own smart devices by 2017.

Let’s delve into Deloitte’s findings and acquaint ourselves with Africa’s top five fastest growing technology businesses revolutionizing the continent:

At the pinnacle, we find Interswitch Limited from Nigeria, boasting an impressive 1226-percent growth. Standing as an integrated payment and transaction processing company, Interswitch has been pivotal in providing vital tech expertise, like transaction processing and payment infrastructures, to governments, banks, and corporations.

From the heart of East Africa, Kenya, we have Techno Brain with an astounding 621-percent growth. As a provider of custom software applications, Techno Brain has been at the frontline, offering training, education, and comprehensive IT solutions to NGOs, governments, and private entities globally.

Hailing from the economic powerhouse of the African continent, South Africa, Everlytic has marked a 606-percent growth. The company is renowned for its groundbreaking cloud marketing software, managing day-to-day communication and campaigns for mobile, email, and social channels across multiple business sectors.

From the north of Africa in Egypt, T.A. Telecom comes with an impressive 560-percent growth. Providing a broad range of mobile managed services for NGOs, brands, and regional telecommunications operators, they are renowned for their innovative marketing solutions and mobile application development.

Also from South Africa, Adapt IT has surged with a 295-percent growth. Delivering IT services to a variety of industries, including manufacturing, education, financial services, and energy in over 21 countries, Adapt IT ranks as the 28th most-empowered company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange for black economic empowerment and 6th in the ICT sector.

These flourishing giants are not only milestones of technological advancement in Africa but a promise of what’s yet to come. Evidently, Africa is poised to be a global contender in the tech industry, with more fascinating innovations and growth anticipated in coming years.
