In its bid to make significant contributions to the nation’s economy and to provide essential services to its teeming customers, popular ride-hailing service provider, Bolt, has launched a food delivery service in Nigeria — Bolt Food.

In light of this development, Bolt Food has become the latest brand ready to provide customers with excellent services and offer timely delivery services. The company boasts of more than thirty million customers globally and has become a major service company in Nigeria. It is safe to say its ride-hailing service is currently the most popular and the most patronised in the country. However, with the launch of Bolt Food, the company has now extended its excellent services from mobility to food delivery. Many believe that through its advanced technology systems, Bolt will provide one of the best delivery services in the country.

Femi Akin-Laguda — Bolt Nigeria Country Manager — said concerning the launch, “We are thrilled to laugh Bolt Food delivery services. We believe it will enhance the ease at which Nigerians order food from their preferred eateries and restaurants, and gets it delivered to them in their homes and offices in record time.”

“Our ride-hailing service is founded on efficiency and easing mobility for riders while providing them with the opportunity to make more money. We are excited to bring this system to food delivery and make sure our partner restaurants will benefit from our loyal customer base.  For us, this is a means of contributing to Nigeria’s economy. We will also make sure our couriers generate enough income for themselves like our riders from our ride-hailing services,” he added.

The emergence of Bolt Food in the country will create more opportunities for restaurants as they will have a more extensive customer reach, with Bolt being in the middle of affairs through its delivery service.

At the beginning of this new service from Bolt, customers can only make food orders from over one hundred restaurants in Lagos Island. However, Bolt is seeking to register new restaurants and promises to spread to other areas in Lagos soon.

Placing orders have been made easy by Bolt. To do so, customers can install the Bolt Food app on their phones. After opening the app, customers will discover a wide range of restaurants which they can choose to order food.

On the app, the food prices across various restaurants will be displayed to customers. Once customers order food and specify their location or address, Bolt Food delivery service will deliver the food right away. Initial payments will be made in cash.

Recall that although Bolt recently launched its Food delivery service in Nigeria, it was first launched in Estonia in 2019. Bolt Food also has delivery services in African countries such as Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.
