Ride-hailing service Bolt announced via its social media platforms days ago that the company has launched tricycles in Warri, Delta state. The company said that passengers could now hail tricycles from the app and get picked or delivered to their destinations with ease and in grand style. The ride-hailing service tweeted that, ‘Warri, Bolt Tricycles are now on your street! Starting today, you can Bolt around your city with our three-wheelers arriving at your doorstep. Can you guess what cities in Nigeria have Bolt tricycles? Use the code BOLTWARRIKEKE to get a NGN 500 discount on your ride’

Bolt was formerly known as mTakso and Taxify and was founded by Markus Villig in August 2017. Bolt is a company that offers micromobility, vehicles for hire and food delivery service. The company has its headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia and is operational in over 200 cities 40 countries in Africa, Europe, Western Asia and Latin America. Bolt currently has over fifty million customers worldwide and over one million drivers to offer rides. Bolt services are available through its mobile app that is available on Google Play store and Apple store.

The company also shared its announcement that their tricycle service is available in Warri, Delta state in an Instagram post with the caption ‘Warri, Bolt Tricycles are now on your street! Starting today, you can Bolt around your city with our three-wheelers arriving at your doorstep. Can you guess what cities in Nigeria have Bolt tricycles? Use the code BOLTWARRIKEKE to get a NGN 500 discount on your ride’

The company is interested in environmental sustainability and continually invests in building a greener future. For example, since September 2019, Bolt rides in Europe are 100 percent carbon-neutral. The company also seeks ways to contribute to environmental sustainability of the countries where it exists.

This is not the first time the ride-hailing service would be launching tricycles. In fact, Bolt has tricycles in cities like Enugu, Uyo, Calabar, Abuja, Ibadan and Owerri, and plans to even expand its tricycle service into other cities. Expansion is what is in forefront of the companies thought as it works towards its tricycle service becoming mainstream in Nigeria.

Bolt also recently launched a food delivery service like Jumia Food and is really seeking to grasp all the opportunities that exists in the Nigerian market. Bolt tricycles are now to face biggest contenders like Otrike that are already available in major cities in Nigeria in the tricycle-hailing business.
