Credibility is one of the most important things any business can have. With so many horror stories about terrible brands and awful customer service, clients want to ensure that they’re spending their money with people they can trust.

However, if your organization is still relatively new, there’s a good chance that you will have to work at earning your customers’ trust. You’ll need patience and the right strategy to develop your reputation as a trustworthy business.

While you won’t necessarily be able to convince every customer to rely on you straight away, you can take some steps to make sure you build that all-important credibility faster.

 

Create Educational Content

Many customers start by looking at the kind of insight and thought leadership a company has before they think about purchasing from them.

If you have informational videos on your website, in-depth articles about your industry, and handy podcasts, then it’s clear you know what you’re doing.

Content marketing demonstrates your position in your chosen industry and makes it easier for you to grow.

Creating content will help you attract other companies that want to collaborate with you, improving your chances of achieving better reach.

It also strengthens your position from an SEO perspective, helping you rank higher on the search engines.

Sometimes a higher position on the search results is enough to convince your customers that you’re genuine. Seeing you on the first page of Google rather than the 21st will encourage your audience to do business with you.

 

Develop an App for Your Business

Speaking of investing in your business, few things will make you look more legitimate in today’s digital world than your own app.

A dedicated business app is a great way to improve your reputation and strengthen the connection you have with your customers. You can use it to help customers browse through your products when they’re on the move or answer their questions through great customer service.

An app gives you a place in your customer’s pockets at all times, which is an excellent way to make sure that you don’t lose their attention.

However, if you want your app to have a positive impact on your conversion rates, you’ll need to  give your customers something valuable. In other words, look at how your app can make their lives more convenient.

 

Implement Social Proof on Your Website

Any business owner can spend thousands of dollars telling their audience how great their company is.

However, no matter how convincing your marketing messages are, they’re never going to be as trustworthy to your audience as reviews and testimonials from other customers.

Your potential leads value the insight left from consumers just like them, who have interacted with your company before. 61% of buyers say that they read consumer reviews before making a purchase.

The good news is that you can reduce the amount of work your customer needs to do by displaying your reviews on your website.

List everything from testimonials from your audience members to case studies from people that you’ve worked extensively with in the past.

You can even give your products “star ratings”, so customers can instantly see how other people feel about them.

All of this will give potential customers a better understanding of what they can expect from you.

 

Display Trust Seals

According to customer research, users now understand the value of having trust seals on websites. Trust seals are essentially the little badges that show a company is approved by a specific group.

There are various approval and regulation bodies that can demonstrate a company is holding itself to a specific set of standards.

For instance, surveys suggest that a trust badge from Norton is one of the most trustworthy seals for proving that you have a secure website.

However, you might find that various labels from companies connected to your industry have a bigger impact on your consumers.

If you’re making sure that you’re following the guidelines for companies in your industry, and protecting your consumers as much as you can with the right safety precautions, you deserve to show off that information.

 

Partner Up

If your company is too young to have much of a reputation at this stage, try looking for other companies and individuals to help strengthen your current position.

Maybe there’s an influencer in your industry that can assist you by partnering with you on a new promotion or event.

Many organizations work with influencers to earn the respect of their followers during the early stages of brand growth.

You don’t necessarily need a huge celebrity to take your company to the next level. Something as simple as a micro-influencer could make a huge difference.

The key to success is finding someone who engages with your audience on a deeper level and makes a positive impact on the people you want to purchase your products or services.

Additionally, some smaller influencers will even work for freebies of your items.

 

Start Building Your Credibility

Your credibility is crucial as a growing business, and it doesn’t form overnight.

The more time you spend in your industry, proving yourself to customers and other partners, the more you will grow your impact on the marketplace. Hopefully, the tips above will give you the tools you need to get a credibility boost for your brand during the early stages of your growth.
