
In a recent development today, Netflix announced Dani Dudeck joining the team as CCO, the Chief Communication Officer. She will be reporting directly to Co.CEO Ted Sarandos and she also will begin working with him from January 12th, 2026. Rachel Whetstone, Netflix’s former CCO, was hired in 2018 but left the position in March 2025. Dudeck is leaving Instacart where she served as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer to join Netflix. She has also had positions other positions with MySpace and Zynga.
Netflix’s $82.7 billion offer to acquire Warner Bros. coincides with Dudeck’s hiring. Sarandos and co-CEO Greg Peters have reaffirmed to staff that they are “confident” that Netflix will secure the necessary regulatory permissions and defeat Paramount’s aggressive, all-cash counter-bid in order to seal the massive purchase.
Despite Netflix’s commitment “to maintain Warner Bros.’ current operations and build on its strengths,” including movie theatrical releases, the completion of this merger will fundamentally alter the entertainment industry’s trajectory at large.
In a statement, Sarandos stated, “Dani Dudeck has worked with some of the fastest growing companies in the world over the last 20 years.” “We are thrilled to be welcoming Dani to Netflix. She is known for creating high-performing global teams and crafting narratives that significantly impact culture, business, and stakeholder trust.”
In an introductory speech from Dudeck, she stated that, Netflix is revolutionising “entertainment through its relentless creativity, technological innovation, and unwavering commitment to great storytelling.”
She further stated by expressing how excited, she is, to “contribute to a company that brings joy, curiosity, and connection to hundreds of millions of people globally, while creating such meaningful cultural and economic impact.”
Her remarks explains, “as they further Netflix’s mission of entertaining the world, Ted, Greg, and the entire team inspire her with their vision and ambition every day.” “After 28 years, Netflix’s staff continue to push the limits of what is conceivable. They are among the most creative and diligent in the entertainment and technology industries. And she is excited about the future and she looks forward to joining the team next month.
In some of her previous work experiences, Dudeck’s career before Instacart where she had a seven years as a Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, then it included an eight-year as CCO at Zynga, followed after her role as VP of Global Communications at MySpace.
Dudeck graduated from the University of Southern California with a dual Bachelor of Arts in public relations and French.
All these work experiences had earn her a space at Netflix as a Chief Communication Officer where her expertise will be crucial in managing the public narrative surrounding this complex corporate battle.
