It was back in October 2015 that Dropbox first announced the concept of its new collaborative online tool but since then it’s been in beta but it looks like the cloud storage company is finally ready to roll out the product globally. Paper is an editing tool that allows you and your colleagues to work together in the cloud just like Google Docs. While there are services like this all over the place, it’s the features each company plugs in that makes the difference.
With this Dropbox wants you to dump your Office 365 subscription for its service and its doing this by encouraging enterprises to maintain their existing subscription while adding Paper as their new collaborative tool. In a blog post on their website, they said with Dropbox Paper, we’re giving teams a flexible workspace that brings people and ideas together. After receiving great responses from early adopters in over 200 countries and territories—including companies like InVision, Ben & Jerry’s, Shopify, and Campaign Monitor—we’ve been evolving Paper to make it even more powerful. Today, we’re happy to announce Paper is out of beta and available in 21 languages on the web.
They add that Paper should be seen as an online document storage that adds interactive tools for teams to collaborate and manage tasks among others. So using Smart Sync, a company’s Dropbox account can be turned into folders that you can access on PCs and Mac.
