If you were not able to participate in the annual Ericsson award last year, here’s another opportunity to showcase your tech skill. The annual Ericsson innovation award, themed ‘The Future of Truth’ is open to undergraduates, graduates, postgraduates, MBA and Master students globally and is restricted to only Science, Engineering, Business and Technology disciplines. The registration for the competition is now open, until November 15, 2017.

Next year’s Ericsson innovation award is themed ‘The Future of Truth’

The orgainsation has clearly described eligibility for the competition on their website. Intending participants must be able to demonstrate an adequate knowledge in the use of technology to improve the way people find, validate and share truth in the age of information.

Last year, the competition was themed ‘How can technology shape the idea of food?’ The first prize won £25,000, the second prize, £10,000 and the third, £1,000 as well as career-enhancing incentives. This, the grand prize remains the same in terms of cash; in addition to this is a trip to Stockholm Sweden for all finalist team members which includes the airfare, hotel accommodations and other expenses, and an expert Ericsson mentorship for one month.  The second position will take £10,000, third position, £5,000, and fourth position, £2,000.  This is sure worth the chase!

The Head of Human Resources, Ericsson Region Middle East, and Africa, Girish Johar noted that the competition is open to youths for solutions to technology challenges to improve lives. He said:

‘At Ericsson, we believe in the power of the ICT and we have witnessed how it can impact the world for the better. The next generation of mobile networks is launching with the promise of improving lives like never before, and the future of technology is in the hands of our next generation. This competition is an invitation for the youths to join the discussion and showcase how their talent and innovations can help the world of the ICT develop future opportunities.’

He said further that the process will include semi-finalists and finalists and all players will be duly recognised on social and digital media. Each participant will also be awarded a certificate and will be privileged to be interviewed by a recruiter.

If you a university student, graduating with an associate, bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Ericsson’s preferred choice of listed disciplines, and you believe in your capacity to deliver tech solutions, you may be the next celebrated champion. Registration is ongoing!
