…a $7.5 billion gaming studio has been added to the Xbox community.

The EU regulatory agencies finally approved ZeniMax Media’s acquisition by Microsoft — ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Doom and Fallout studio Bethesda Softworks was acquired for $7.5billion.

According to the software tech company, the ZeniMax acquisition supplements Microsoft’s lucrative first-party video gaming business. Microsoft-owned Xbox games studio now round up to 23, including ZeniMax and its subsidiaries.

Microsoft’s gaming chief, Phil Spencer, also noted that his company aims at leading the gaming industry with a team of first-party studios. An additional gaming studio portrays Microsoft’s commitments to bolster the responsiveness of its Xbox community.

“With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players,” Phil added.

Microsoft gaming chief noted that the deal they signed with ZeniMax also includes their subsidiary studios. In comparison with Sony’s 13 PlayStation studios, Microsoft has 23 studios functioning under its Xbox community.

The terms of the deal demand Bethesda retain its autonomous status quo to operate as a business entity just like its parent company, Microsoft. Specialists familiar with Microsoft’s latest acquisition of major tech firms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and Mojang — Microsoft followed the same pattern in these business deals.

The software tech company allows their acquired firms to retain their regular business transactions with their respective chief executive positions. Although Microsoft expected to declare specific changes still, Bethesda marketing chief Pete Hines noted in another blog post that they will not be any official changes approved by Microsoft yet.

“First, let me say that we’re not making any landmark announcements or changes right now. As we’ve all shared, the expectation is that Bethesda Softworks and our studios will continue as we have in the past, just with more support and resources than we’ve ever had before. Game Pass has been an important initiative for Xbox, and we’ll be working on putting even more of our games into Game Pass than ever before. Beyond that? Stay tuned; we’re just getting started together.”

The previous September was the initial time when Microsoft shared a public announcement centred on their interests to acquire Bethesda. The acquisition also aimed to honour PS5 exclusivity. Meanwhile, the online version also maintains the same interface as it was before Microsoft acquired it all.

Among other significant acquisitions signed by Microsoft, Bethesda happens to be trendy when questions have been asked about how Microsoft intends to feature its new service on its PC and Xbox platform. Phil noted that they would add other tweaks exclusively for Microsoft’s platforms.

Neither did Bethesda nor Microsoft disclosed the number of Bethesda’s products added to the Xbox. Still, Microsoft is assuring that more games from Bethesda will feature on its Xbox.
