Facebook Live Introduces Innovative Tools for Collaborative and Private Streaming

Facebook is rolling out exciting enhancements to its ‘Live’ tool, introducing the capability to privately chat with friends during live events and inviting a special guest to feature in your live streaming, irrespective of their geographic location.

Previously, any comments or chats you shared during a live session were visible to all viewers, which could potentially dampen participation, particularly when the discussions were of a private nature. In line with Facebook’s continued commitment to improving user experience, the social media giant announced these novel features in a [blog post](https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2017/05/more-ways-to-connect-with-friends-in-facebook-live/) on their official website.

The newly introduced ‘Live Chat With Friends’ feature offers the option to initiate a private chat with friends, either already watching the live event or those who you believe may be interested. At any given time, users can choose to revert back to the public chat, and even after the live event concludes, the private chat can continue via Messenger.

In addition to improving viewer interaction during live sessions, Facebook introduced another innovative tool, ‘Live With’. This feature presents an opportunity for users to invite friends to join their live video, enabling a more immersive and collaborative experience.

Whether you’re hosting an informal hangout session or conducting an official interview, ‘Live With’ opens up avenues for interactive content creation that resonates with your audience. The ability to share your screen with friends undoubtedly makes the live streaming more engaging for both, the streamers and their viewers.

While Facebook is touting these features as additions to its suite of fun tools, it’s worth considering the potential business applications associated with this interactive streaming feature. For up-and-coming broadcasting companies or independent content creators with limited resources, these enhancements could bridge the gap between traditional physical setup and virtual interaction by merely clicking a button.

These latest features are now available on Facebook’s iOS and Android applications, marking yet another stride in the platform’s consistent upgrades to cater to user convenience and content creation trends.

With these innovative features, Facebook continues to reinvent social connectivity and content sharing, making live-streaming a more interactive and private experience for its users. So, whether it’s catching up with old friends, obtaining real-time responses during a live tutorial, or hosting a multi-guest live show, the ‘Live Chat with Friends’ and ‘Live With’ tools promise to make Facebook Live a richer and more personalized social media tool.
