In order to digitize the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service’s (FCT-IRS) activities, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has authorised a substantial expenditure of N242.8 million for the purchase of a Microsoft 365 license for the agency.

This was revealed by Mr. Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman, FCT-IRS, during the FCT Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, which was presided over by Minister Nyesom Wike.

Mr. Ango asserted that the FCTA is dedicated to investing heavily in technology in order to increase the effectiveness of revenue collection and generating in the FCT.

Therefore, this is another one of the technical investments the FCT is making. If the license is obtained, it will improve our capacity to convert the majority of our manual procedures into automated ones. It will improve our office-to-office communication,” he stated.

The executive chairman went on to say that by storing data and documents in the cloud, the action will also guarantee improved record keeping and lessen the usage of paper.

He claims that the license would basically improve our operations and help us make money for the FCT’s growth under Wike’s direction.

The automation of several manual procedures inside the service will be made possible by the Microsoft 365 license, enhancing operational effectiveness and internal communication. Additionally, by storing crucial papers and data in the cloud, it will enhance record-keeping and lessen the need for paper.

Ango emphasized that the government’s objective of increasing income for the development of the Federal Capital Territory under Mr. Wike’s leadership would ultimately be supported by the digitization initiatives, which would also significantly improve the FCT-IRS’s operations.

The executive chairman went on to say that by storing data and documents in the cloud, the action will also guarantee improved record keeping and lessen the usage of paper.

He said that the license will basically improve operations and help to raise money for the FCT’s growth under Wike’s direction.

Following the FCT Executive Committee meeting, Chief Felix Obuah, coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), made the following statement, that the department of development control under AMMC will have an easier time with the purchase of the earth-moving equipment.

In order to purchase certain essential earthmoving machinery and equipment for the Department of Development Control under AMMC, we requested clearance today.

“The council approved the procurement within the allotted three weeks, and it was in favour of Matrak Nigerian Ltd,” he stated.

SEM CAT Wheel Loader (SEM656), CAT Wheel Loader (950 GC), CAT Excavator (320 GX), CAT Excavator (323 GX), and CAT Dozer (D6 GC) were the machines that Obuah recognised.
