Google’s Announcement Reveals the Africa Developer Scholarships will Admit 30K Aspirants.

Google, Pluralsight, and Andela partnered for the software developer scholarship.

Google’s annual scholarship for software developers is here again as Google announcements revealed this year’s edition will feature thirty thousand aspirants to join the software developer program by Google and Co. Google noted that the software developer scholarship is designed to support aspirants to become veterans in either Android or Google Cloud system development.

The Google scholarship initiative is reserved for professional developers based in Africa and is intended to reform their skills as continental veterans in software development. Recall Google’s scholarship for African developers is a partnership program the search giant contorted with the likes of Pluralsight, and Andela to tutor aspirants towards enhanced digital skills.

Nonetheless, the likes of Andela, Google, and Pluralsight unification are bent on elevating Africa’s digital ecosystem with multiple technology developers based within the continent. Google will also award participants with certification to determine and ascertain their developed digital skillset, groomed by Google’s scholarship as well as bearing the trademark of Google’s genuine brand.

Although Google’s announcement to support African developers tallies with the previous announcement Google revealed to celebrate Africa via YouTube. Google Africa Developer Training Program Manager John Kimani confirmed Google’s scholarship announcement also tallies with the Google I/O event the search giant experiences annually to showcase technological innovation and invention.

“Opportunities for software developers in Africa are at an all-time high. At Google, we have been supporting developers in Africa through community and training programs for over 10 years.” Kimani noted the Google I/O event for 2022 will feature African developers as a platform to showcase their talents. “Today, there are more than 180 active developer communities in 30 countries across Africa that provide developers with the opportunity to connect, learn and grow together.”

The 2022 Google scholarship for Android and Google Cloud development has a drafted criterion for professional developers in contrast to the previous developer scholarship program Google hosted in 2021 that admitted fifteen thousand candidates. The qualified aspirant for the previous scholarship edition is divisible into two sections — ten thousand aspirants are exclusive for beginners while the other fraction is reserved for professionals.

After the program training, qualified candidates will progress to the next phase where they will get access to the filtered syllabus for tutoring candidates on Android apps development via Kotlin and Google Cloud — this serves as preparation for grooming qualified candidates for Associate engineer level certification. Google has made acute provision for qualified candidates to access the Pan-African network of advanced mentorship serving guidance to thirty thousand qualified candidates.

It is worth noting that software development application is common amongst startup companies and the industry in general since the digital economy is currently in its prime.

The Google scholarship for software developers poses an employment opportunity for individuals to stay relevant in the typical regressive African economy that harbors unemployment as a significant tool.

Nowadays, there is a slight transition in the ancestral words of wisdom which says that “opportunity comes once for the unprepared.”

The Techbooky.africa and African Developer Report(ers) agree with Google’s commitment to driving innovation with high-end technology in Africa. The African digital economy transformation with Google’s resources will accelerate technology innovation in Africa before the Google five-year billion dollars timeline elapses due to the Product Development Centre Google decided to establish in Kenya, and the Equiano subsea cables Google Google started submerging in Nigeria. This technology development is projected to explore Africa.
