Google Chrome Selects Windows OS Versions The Web Browser Will Quit Supporting By February.

Google modified the policy for its flagship web browser, Chrome to start 2023 with a mandate that obliges its users to ditch obsolete technology and embrace the high-end future. Google Chrome announced its services will no longer be available to support selected Windows systems running old system and app versions to embrace its futuristic agenda bent on enhancing user experience.

Google Chrome’s latest policy on ditching obsolete Windows versions such as Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 will be enacted when the next Chrome version rolls out in February. Windows users stuck with an older system version will not access the soon-coming Chrome v110 from February 7 — seven days before the next valentine’s Day celebration.

This update is in correspondence to Microsoft’s intent to quit supporting both Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 with security updates, while other latest Windows OS remain accessible to tweaked security patches.

Google Chrome’s announcement serves as a user guide that urges users to remain updated with its latest technology development, enhancing users’ experience surfing the web via Chrome. For context, this notice obliges users to upgrade their Windows OS to the latest Windows OS suchlike Windows 10 or Windows 11 which can access the tweaked features Google developers will be adding to the Chrome browser.

Windows users running on Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 have enough time to upgrade their systems to access starred features before the Chrome v110 rolls out on February 7. Recall this announcement initially went viral two months ago as Google was preparing to close its business account for the previous year. Yet Google Chrome reveals the selected OS system it won’t be supporting after promising to ditch other obsolete Windows OS two years ago.

Windows users with older OS system running the latest app version tends to degrade the user’s experience because the system will not support tweaked features per the developer’s design. Aside from being from experiencing supported features on Google Chrome, Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 users will not have access to the security systems Google patched on the forthcoming Chrome v110.

Surfing the internet with a less secure browser makes the user’s activity prone to cyber attacks, and other malicious threats.

Techbooky Africa hopes Google Chrome is keen on enacting this policy on February 7, 2023, despite other related promises to ditch obsolete Windows OS. Google Chrome initially consented to quit supporting older Windows OS in 2021 then postponed the exercise a year later to the previous January. Still, Google’s announcement did not discuss reasons for the consecutive delay in quitting support for obsolete Windows OS.

WhatsApp recently published a similar announcement on devices that will no longer access or support sending and receiving instant messages. Other tech experts suggested this update has influenced Google to finally decide to quit supporting users’ degrading its Chrome capability and being on the same page with its counterpart, Meta.

More Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 users are expected to upgrade their OS system likewise retaining Window’s position as the most used OS platform n the world OS ranking, seconded by Google’s Android OS. Recall that Microsoft remains keen on excluding both Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 from its entitlement list on security updates, Techbooky Africa reports.
