The holiday season is here, as a plan to encourage “giving” this season, Google has added a new ‘Donate Button’ to its search engine, when you search for a recognized non-profit organization. The donate button will allow you to directly contribute a token to a non-profit organization no matter how small it is when you search for them on the web, although the non-profit organizations will have to enrol on Google before their donate button can be turned on.

According to Google’s blog which reads that “We’ve seen people’s generosity throughout 2017, especially in times of crisis and need. And earlier this year, we made a commitment to continue to bring the best of our people, products, and philanthropy to make an impact and help create opportunity for everyone”

Also added by Google is that   “We pledged $1 billion in Google.org grants over five years to non-profits organization around the world, and 1 million hours that Googlers can volunteer to contribute to  non-profits organization And we’ll continue to find new ways to support non-profits through products like Search.

How it works?

While using the search engine, to search for any growing non-profit organisation, you will see a new “Donate” option. Click on the Donate button and you will see an easy donation flow directed to your favourite non-profit organization you wish to donate to. With the new donate button Google hopes it will make donation easier for online shoppers to contribute to non-profit organization as about 30 per cent of charitable donations occurr during the holiday season according to Google.
