Google Drive Supports Editing Either PDFs, Office, And Image Files Without Internet Access.

Google finally tweaked its Drive product to edit any format of documents ranging from PDFs, Office files, and images when offline mode is activated. Now Google allows users to either view or edit any format of documents including Microsoft’s default format of documents without internet access.

Accessing Google’s Drive via its custom web browser, Chrome, can also perform this offline view and edit function — either mobile or desktop Chrome users can edit any format of your backed up file on Drive’s database. Note that Google also made this feature accessible on every OS platform, which depicts it is available for global use.

Google continues to add value to its flagship products — table turns and it is currently positioned on Drive’s face. Remember, Google started developing this offline edit feature accessible to multiple documented formats stored in Drive in 2019.

Since two years ago to date, only users on Google’s beta platform have had access to view and edit files directly on Drive while the internet connection is deactivated. At the time it was still developing

Users can access all of their important Drive files while offline especially when there’s poor internet connectivity. I suggest Google developers have finished developing this feature a year ago — now, major commands can be processed on Drive without internet access.

Remember, Google made this feature accessible for global users on all types of OS platforms, including Apple’s iOS users, MAC users, and Microsoft’s platforms. For context, Drive is required to be downloaded on third-party devices, which is not mandatory on Google’s custom OS platform, Android OS.

It is also mandatory to activate the availability of Google’s Drive for offline mode prior to accessing your backed-up file on Drive. Go to Drive’s Setting >> observe the top-right corner of Google’s Drive Settings and click the custom geared icon to initiate the process of activating ‘offline mode” for Drive.

Afterward, click the marked file to reveal the sub-window that allows the availability of offline mode on Drive. It is worth noting that the document you intend to access offline has to be marked to access either view & edit backup files on Drive without internet access.

Available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as Cloud Identity Free, Cloud Identity Premium, G Suite Basic, and Business customers. Available on personal accounts as well.

It is worth noting that to access third parties format backed up on Google drive also requires you to have third-party apps to view and edit third-party format.
