Now Google Photos has a shortcut to help you find your screenshots faster - koolplaz

Google’s Photos app has received new updates that make locating screenshots directly within the app faster. With the new update, users will be able to access screenshots through a shortcut. This shortcut can be accessible from the Photos icon on your phone’s homepage with a long press or available to split out as a direct shortcut placed on your screen.

According to Google, here are instructions pointed out for the use of shortcuts on Android

  • Touch and hold the app, then lift your finger. If the app has shortcuts, you’ll get a list.
  • Touch and hold the shortcut.
  • Slide the shortcut to where you want it. Lift your finger.

Tip: To use a shortcut without adding it to a Home screen, tap it.

The in-app shortcut to screenshots is an update Google Photos received in earlier in March. This feature was showcased alongside a new layout experience of either a grid or a list view for Android users. The screenshot comes with sorted categories as well as a button that appears at the top of the app pointing to screenshots in their own folder. The new update has made it so easy to spot screenshots rather than having to go scrolling through the entire photo library or folders.

In addition to the new shortcut, users can still manage Android screenshots by going to their device folders and selecting the screenshot folder. Taking screenshots has suddenly become an integral part of our photo library, just like taking selfies with our phone camera. Asides from saving our photos on the cloud, Google decided to offer another method that cuts down the number of steps needed to sort through different kinds of pictures in your library.
