Here Are The New Things To Look Out For In Google Pixel Watch 2

In the world of wearables, Google’s Pixel Watch made a rather hesitant entrance. But now, a year later, the stage is set for a remarkable encore – welcome the Pixel Watch 2! Unveiled at the recent Made by Google event, the Pixel Watch 2 comes bearing exciting upgrades that are bound to make fitness enthusiasts and tech aficionados alike sit up and take notice.

What’s under the hood? The Pixel Watch 2 elevates your health and fitness tracking game. With advanced sensors for heart-rate and blood oxygen monitoring, it delves deeper into your well-being. Borrowing a page from Fitbit, it introduces a cEDA (Continuous ElectroDermal Activity) and a skin temperature sensor to gauge your stress levels. Should it detect a change, it prompts you to log your feelings or embark on guided breathing exercises. The watch also offers automatic workout tracking and heart zone training to help you conquer your fitness goals.

While there may be some resemblances to the first model, Google has made thoughtful refinements. The watch’s crown is now more substantial and seamlessly integrated into the case. Redesigned watch bands promise a lighter and comfier fit, thanks to their smart backward-compatible swapping mechanism.

But in 2023, it wouldn’t be a Google launch without a dash of AI magic, right? Google’s machine-learning prowess is here to provide deeper insights into your health and routines. This generative AI will soon be available through a Fitbit Labs program, further unlocking the potential of your health data.

On the software front, Wear OS 4 comes loaded with a bounty of new features. Safety Check allows you to share your location with family and friends, ensuring peace of mind. Emergency Sharing broadcasts your real-time location to trusted contacts in times of trouble. Gmail and Google Calendar are finally at your wrist’s beck and call. Plus, the promise of seamless smart home integration with Google’s suite of compatible products becomes a reality, alongside tools like WhatsApp.

The hardware has witnessed a significant leap as well. Google ditches the old and embraces Qualcomm’s new quad-core Snapdragon Wear 5100, backed by a Cortex M33 co-processor, 32GB eMMC flash, and 2GB RAM. The Snapdragon Wear 5100 excels in power efficiency, a pivotal factor for Pixel Watch users.

The battery sees an upgrade, now packing 306 mAh and taking just five minutes less to reach a full charge. With a mere 30 minutes on the charger, you’ll already have 50 percent charge. Google’s promise of 24 hours on a single charge, even with the always-on display, is a claim we’re eager to see in action. Given the previous model’s underwhelming battery performance, this assertion carries substantial weight.

Although much of the design remains consistent in terms of size and connectivity, the Pixel Watch 2 brings refreshing vigour. You can pre-order it today, starting at $349 for the WiFi-only version. LTE enthusiasts need not fret; it’s available in that flavour too. Get ready to embrace the future of wearables, where style meets substance, health meets tech, and your Pixel Watch 2 becomes your indispensable companion. Plus, just like last time, purchasers will enjoy six months of Fitbit Premium. The Pixel Watch 2 is here to impress, and it’s ready to make your wrist its new home.
