Google Pixel 6 - Release date: How nice is Pixel 6?

It’s been a while since the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices launched and continue to receive new features, improvements and fixes that are supposed to make their performance better. In March, new features and changes came to the Pixel 6 devices recently, which introduced us to the new “At a Glance” widget. The company is set to release an April update for the Pixel 6 range.

According to a blog post by the company, the new update to the Pixel devices will address three specific issues, a security update for Pixel devices, fixes to various camera issues and improvements to the wireless charging. The company say wireless charging updates and camera fixes for the Pixel 6 lineup should improve performance with certain (unspecified) accessories.

Also, Google says it has fixed an issue causing the front-facing camera preview on Pixel devices to appear zoomed-in for users. In addition, some users have complained of facing an issue that causes a green screen to occasionally appear in the front-facing camera preview. With this new April update, the company says that has been fixed as well.

Google has touched on several issues that make the Pixel devices crash while using the picture-in-picture mode or display an error message for certain live wallpapers. The company notes that the latest update has solutions to issues of incorrect animation in the app drawer, issues of the device going on a blackout in the notification shade and Quick Settings panel, and much more. Touching on several security fixes, and accompanying security bulletin also details several security flaws addressed by this latest update and for other Android devices with a security patch level of April 5th or later.

The April security update is currently being rolled out by Google for Pixel devices, ranging from Pixel 3a models to the latest Pixel 6 Pro. The company has said that users will receive the update over the next few weeks, depending on the carrier and model. Users should expect to receive a notification once the update is available. However, for users who cannot wait, Google has made the OTA and factory images of the latest update available.
