Google formally started launching Search Live in more than 200 countries and territories and also had to formally announce earlier today that it is bringing its AI-powered conversational search function, Search Live, to every language and place where AI Mode is accessible. According to Google, this extension would make the service available to users in more than 200 nations and territories.
The conversational, AI-powered camera function is now accessible in all languages and geographical areas where Google’s “AI Mode” is compatible.
Search Live, which was first introduced in July 2025, enables back-and-forth chats that utilize the visual context from the camera feed by allowing users to aim their phone camera at items to receive real-time advice. Search Live was exclusively accessible in the United States and India prior to this worldwide rollout.
Google’s new audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, makes the expansion possible. The tech company claims that the methodology produces even more intuitive and natural discussions.
Users must launch the Google app for iOS or Android and hit the “Live” symbol beneath the search bar in order to utilize the feature. After that, they can ask a question aloud to receive an audio answer, then carry on the discussion by asking further questions. Additionally, users can explore web connections to delve deeper.
In a blog post, Google stated, “Search Live is designed for those moments when you need real-time help and typing out a query just won’t cut it.” You can turn on your camera to provide visual context if you have questions about something in front of you, such as how to install a new shelf unit. In this manner, Search can recognize what your camera sees and provide useful recommendations along with connections to more online content.
According to Google, if you’re already using Google Lens to position your camera, you can also access Search Live by tapping the “Live” button at the bottom of the screen.
Additionally, the internet giant revealed that Google Translate’s “Live Translate” feature will now be available on iOS. Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand are among the nations where the feature, which allows you to hear real-time translations in your headphones, is being added.
According to Google, users of iOS and Android may now receive real-time translations in over 70 languages on any pair of headphones.
The key features that exist on the Search Live are
- Real-Time Conversations: Have a natural voice conversation with Google by pointing your camera at any object.
- Visual Context: The AI draws from the live camera feed to provide instant help with DIY, identification, or troubleshooting, no typing required.
- Powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live: A high-speed audio and voice model enables near-instant, intuitive interactions.
- Integrated Search: Conversational responses are paired with links to authoritative sources for deeper exploration.
To conveniently use this feature, users can access Search Live in the Google app on Android or iOS: tap the “Live” icon below the search bar or open Google Lens and select the “Live” option. Point your camera at a subject and start asking questions; the AI responds in real time.
Following its initial rollout in the U.S. and India in 2025, this global expansion eliminates the need for a “Labs” opt-in for the majority of users in approved regions.
