Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro? Some real-world guidance that might surprise you | Computerworld

Google has responded to issues that have risen from Pixel 6 owners who may currently be experiencing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues as a result of bugs that might have accompanied installations of a software update. Although at the moment not every Pixel 6 user is encountering these issues brought about as a result of security patch earlier this month. Complains about the device’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues started when a user took to Reddit to express these, Google however has since acknowledged the problem.

A response from Google says, “After some investigation, we identified the root cause and determined that it impacts a very small number of devices,” Google says. “Of course, we realize this is a poor experience and immediately developed a software fix that will be available in the next Google Pixel Update, rolling out in March.”

Google spokesperson Alex Moriconi has confirmed the content of the post by the company and is termed as “accurate.” Google has also directed users to contact its support team “to explore other options in the meantime,” however the company doesn’t provide details on what exactly that means. According to online sources by few users have recorded success solving the problem, they were able to solve the problem through the installation of the Android 12L beta 3. It’s however not clear if this is the “other option” Google talked about.

Since the launch of these devices, complains by users have continued to surface online. One of these complains that the tech giant have also responded to is that the devices don’t charge as fast as expected. In Google’s response to that complain, Google confirmed that their slow charging speeds are a deliberate tradeoff for better battery life of the Pixel 6 device. Other complains that have surface are as regards software updates. Google’s updates for the flagship Pixel 6 and 6 Pro devices haven’t been all that nice. In December, the company withdrew its first major update for both phones from circulation after users when ahead to report dropped and disconnected calls. In January the update fixed the bug — but again things broke upon the release of the most recent patch, which has been causing some devices to randomly toggle off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. We hope the next update set for March with bring a lasting solution to all the problems the Pixel 6 devices have been identified with.
