Google’s Pixel 6 Reveal Event IS Scheduled For Oct. 19

Earlier in the month of August, Google teased mobile device lovers with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google is set for the grand reveal of the Pixel 6 range of mobile devices. The Pixel 6 event which will be a prerecorded live stream is scheduled to take place on Oct. 19 at 10 AM PT (6 PM WAT). At the Pixel event, Google plans to show off the 2021 phone line and Android 12 software which it would run on. Google’s Pixel 6 smartphones brand was earlier reported to have been on the list of smartphones by device manufacturers that are were experiencing post-pandemic related restrictions on country borders to further smartphone production in Vietnam.

For those interested in watching the event, you can watch the live on Google’s Pixel fall event page. The event page takes a cue from Google’s interactive Doodles, letting you change the “mood” by holding the spacebar to change the colors and elements shown on the Pixel 6.

Unlike other new phone reveal events by tech companies you might have come across which leaves you very curious, this would feel a little different, especially with the fact that we already have an idea of what the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro look like. Both phones are expected to come with a camera bar along the back. Also, the new phone is expected to come in a variety of pastel and metallic colors. During the early tease which happened in August, a lot of device lovers learned that the Pixel range will debut Google’s in-house Tensor system-on-chip. The internal change took a cue from how Apple designs its own chips for its mobile devices, allowing Google to further give a customized feel to its Pixel 6 devices.

During the tease, we learned we also learned that both phones will come with a new sensor that takes in 150% more light along with an ultra-wide lens than its predecessor the Pixel 5, though the specs of the new Pixel’s cameras were not disclosed. The Pixel 6 Pro is expected to come with a step-up of its camera bar by the inclusion of a telephoto lens with a 4x optical zoom.

According to CNET, the Tensor chip of the Pixel 6 range will also provide photography improvements on the software side, such as fixing blurry photos by combining various elements of multiple shots into a single image and allow for the phone to take on tasks that rely on artificial intelligence. Examples of the latter include improved speech recognition, dictation that can differentiate between messages and voice commands, live translations that combine Google’s existing Live Caption and Interpreter modes.

Despite all these teases lined up in our note, there is still that feeling that many Pixel 6 rumors out there would be laid to bare on Oct. 19. Beyond just the anticipation for the Pixel 6 launch, we look forward to details of its pricing and other announcements worthy of notes the tech giants plan to reveal to users.
