Here Are The Key Differences Between The iPhone 6 And The iPhone 6 Plus

Apple unveiled its latest models, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, with much fanfare. As prospective buyers grapple with the decision on which one to choose, understanding the key differences between these two models can guide their purchase decision. In this article, we unpack the primary distinctions in terms of cost, screen size, battery life, and additional features.

As far as pricing goes, the iPhone 6 is significant for being $100 cheaper than the iPhone 6 Plus. The base model of iPhone 6 with 16GB storage capacity is available at $199, a reasonable amount less than the 16GB iPhone 6 Plus which is priced at $299. If you are looking for larger storage variants, you have the option to choose a 64GB iPhone 6 for $299 or a whopping 128GB for $399.

A noticeable point of divergence between the two models of the latest iPhones involves the screen size. Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus boast larger screens when compared to their predecessor, the iPhone 5S. But there is a comparative difference between the two with the iPhone 6’s screen being around 1 inch smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus. The 4.7-inch display of the iPhone 6 comes with a resolution of 1,334 x 750 pixels whereas the larger 5.5-inch screen of the iPhone 6 Plus flaunts a full high-definition resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

In terms of battery life, the iPhone 6 finds itself at a disadvantage compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. While the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 seems to hold a similar battery life offering around 10 hours on a full charge, the iPhone 6 Plus takes a lead by providing about 16 hours of battery life. This makes the iPhone 6 Plus a better option for those who want to enjoy extended browsing, streaming, or gaming sessions without the interruption of frequent charging.

Despite these differences, the core components, or the ‘guts’, of both phones are similar. Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus offer similar quality when it comes to photos, and they both feature the Apple Pay system, a mobile payment solution that aims to replace traditional plastic credit cards. In addition, both are compatible with the Apple Watch, adding an extra convenience factor for those who own or plan to own this wearable technology from Apple.

Overall, the decision on whether to choose the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus largely depends on personal preferences. If a larger screen size and longer battery life are your priorities, the iPhone 6 Plus is the ideal choice. However, if the size of your current iPhone suffices and you wish for a good smartphone without shelling an extra hundred dollars, the iPhone 6 is a worthwhile option.
