Unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S6: Detailed Features and How It Stacks up Against Its Rivals

This past weekend marked a significant moment in the universe of tech aficionados as the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 was unveiled to the world. The launch created ripples across the internet, with many speculating how this new offering might affect the competitive dynamics of the smartphone market, specifically in relation to chief rivals like Apple. Over the years, Samsung and Apple have constantly juggled for the pole position in the global smartphone orbit, and lest we forget, BlackBerry was once in this hallowed league too.

Indeed, sales performance of predecessor Samsung Galaxy S5 conspicuously fell short, registering a marked 40% lower than the company’s targeted figures, as reported by NDTV . It naturally begs the question, will the new Galaxy S6 change the game?

Launched in April, the Samsung Galaxy S5 invited high expectations, and the scene is no different for the successor S6 model. To get a better understanding of what’s new in the S6 version and how it fares against its predecessor, we’ve compiled a comprehensive comparison between the S5 and S6 courtesy of TechnoBuffalo.

Below, you’ll find a direct comparison covering aspects such as display size, operating system, processor, storage, cameras, connectivity, and more, to give potential buyers a clear understanding of the improvements offered by the new Galaxy S6.

Interestingly, Samsung seems to have focused on enhancing the user experience and performance levels, although some hardware stats, like the battery life, have seen marginal downgrades. The S6 enjoys a more refined operating system, superior RAM, and greater internal storage options. Although it loses out on the S5’s external storage, the vast internal storage should more than make up for it.

The front camera receives an upgrade with a 5MP shooter compared to the S5’s 2MP. Interestingly, the S6 also slightly slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy S5. Yet, the Galaxy S6 does miss out on some of S5’s notable features like dust and water resistance and the ability to use the phone as a remote via the IR Blaster.

The beefed-up specifications of the Samsung S6 will clearly make potential buyers and Samsung enthusiasts sit up and take notice, paving the way for the possibility of a stronger performance in the smartphone market.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S6 makes a commendable stride forward in the smartphone galaxy with its revamped specifications and features, albeit at the cost of omitting a few of the S5’s beloved aspects. The future of smartphone competition sure seems intriguing with the entry of this new player.
