Interswitch and the Federal inland Revenue Service, FIRS, the partnership will serve a longer-term since the digital payment platform has reportedly reaffirmed its existing deal that allows taxpayers to issue all taxes focused on the Naira denomination.
On the other hand, focusing on the FiRS latest tax policy dubbed “Tax Administration Solution” — just as the policy is done adjusting, Interswitch deployed its payment as a gateway to the FiRS tax platform. Tax Administration Solution now includes the TaxPro-Max e-filling platform that was assigned on July 7th.
Evolving with digital technology, TaxPro-Max is a sub-FiRS platform that assigns filing tax-related transactions, including filing, tax payments, registration, credit affiliated with withholding tax fees, and other related tax activities in synch with the taxpayer’s account.
Integrating Interswitch with TaxPro-Max allows the platform to display taxpayer’s all-time transactions. “File your tax return on FIRS TaxProMax through the website, and then click on Interswitch logo to generate the Document Identification Number, DIN.”
According to Interswitch, TaxPro-Max by FiRS developed a simplified UI that allows ease of tax payment using its “Paydirect” feature that is accessible at any bank nationwide. While in Nigeria you can also use Paydirect online via Quickteller’s mobile or desktop platform.
It worth noting that, to use Paydirect, you’re required to register else the default credentials will not validate your payment — you can either register online or visit the nearest FiRS office. This registration is under the TaxPro-Max policy, according to the digital payment company.
Interswitch Divisional chief executive, Chinyere Don-Okhuofu, said: “The continued partnership which dates back as far as 2005 when Interswitch pioneered electronic tax collections for the Federal Government of Nigeria is an attestation of our commitment to delivering robust and efficient payment solutions and a confirmation of the agency’s trust in our solutions.”
Interswitch has purportedly assisted the federal government of Nigeria to attain standard revenue specifically from tax contributions. TaxPro-Max appears to be an improved scheme to accept tax with a basic platform. Chinyere continued with encouragement to Nigerians to embrace this new simplified means of paying tax via its portal.
