The wait is finally over! Apple’s iOS 11 is now live and available for download. This marks the release of Apple’s latest mobile operating system, officially making the final version of iOS 11 accessible to all. Described by the company as a ‘giant leap for iPhone and a monumental leap for iPad’, this launch is expected to revolutionize the user experience.

Most iPhone and iPad devices manufactured in the last few years are equipped to support the download of this iOS operating system update. To check compatibility, users can refer to this list of iOS 11 compatible devices. As for the installation, simply navigate to the settings panel under the ‘General’ tab, and check for the software update. If you’ve been using the software in beta, you’re in luck – you can officially upgrade to the final version as of today.

We first glimpsed the features of iOS 11 back in June – and there’s a lot to be excited about. The update includes a substantial revamp of Siri, an ARKit supporting augmented reality on the device, and a unique screenshot capture and editing feature. Perhaps the most considerable transformation is the completely redesigned control center, which redefines the navigation and functionality of iOS. For an in-depth look at all the new additions, check out the full feature list here.

For iPad users, the iOS 11 is a game-changer, serving more as an overhaul than a mere update. The new operating system allows seamless multitasking, offering the option to display two or three apps in a split-screen mode or even in three rows. The innovative drag and drop feature makes managing files a breeze, letting users move photos or copy text from one app to another effortlessly.

Bringing a unified mobile interface across all kinds of screens, the new iOS 11 opens a world of opportunities for iOS devices to compete more effectively against devices with built-in keyboards.

However, there’s a notable downside to this technological evolution: storage. The software is listed as a hefty 1.7GB in size. This might cause potential storage issues for many users, something to consider before taking the leap to iOS 11.

So, are you ready to join the iOS 11 revolution?
