A number of new product improvements centered on GenAI, identification, compliance, and Apple-first device management were revealed by Jamf on Thursday. These features are intended to assist IT teams in managing and securing Apple devices at scale in educational, business, and healthcare settings. They were demonstrated during the U.S. leg of Jamf’s event series, Jamf Nation Live.
The extension of Jamf’s AI Assistant, which is currently in beta, was one of the announcements. Two new features are included in the update: explanation and search. IT administrators may expedite operations like audits and troubleshooting by using the search tool to query device inventory using natural language. The explain feature simplifies policy administration and lowers support costs by decomposing complicated configuration settings into plain English.
Blueprints now accessible as Jamf revealed that Blueprints, a component of its support for Apple’s Declarative Device Management framework, are now generally available. Policies, profiles, and limits are all combined into a single workflow by blueprints. Additionally, using a new dynamic architecture that provides all available device administration keys more quickly and effectively, Jamf released a beta version of Configuration Profiles within Blueprints.
New features were also added to Jamf’s up-to-date end-user interface, Self Service Plus. From the same interface, users can now seek temporary admin access, examine account information, and reset passwords. By preserving audit trails and compliance, these features seek to lessen the amount of IT engagement during onboarding.
On the security front, Apple’s macOS Security Compliance Project is the foundation for Jamf Pro’s new Compliance Benchmarks feature. Teams can automate endpoint hardening and match devices to industry or internal standards with this functionality. Jamf Threat Labs has enabled proactive malware scanning in App Installers. To aid in the security of the software supply chain, every program in the Jamf program Catalog is inspected before deployment.
Additionally, Jamf integrated SIEM with enhanced vulnerability reporting. This upgrade facilitates quicker cleanup and provides IT and security personnel with a shared picture of dangerous programs across devices. App Switcher, a new tool that facilitates platform feature navigation, is now included in Jamf Account for IT administrators. During onboarding, Jamf also gave a sample of a new network relay service that enables devices to safely connect to essential services without requiring a ZTNA or VPN.
