KuCoin Labs Launches $100 Million Fund To Empower Metaverse

KuCoin, a secure cryptocurrency exchange platform that makes it easier to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies have launched the $100 million “KuCoin Metaverse Fund” to empower the development of the Metaverse ecosystem. KuCoins shares this in a blog post. As we may know, the Metaverse is the new cool thing everyone is talking about and many tech companies are joining the race to build the best virtual spaces for both consumers and businesses. With eyes on various technology companies for who does the most with Metaverse, users are looking out for the one that delivers the most amazing VR experiences, this further implies that opportunities abound in the next big thing which is Metaverse.

This KuCoin Metaverse fund aims at helping to build a sustainable Metaverse ecosystem. By investing and incubating early-stage projects, KuCoin believes it can accelerate the development of underlying infrastructure and crush limiting challenges that may hinder the Metaverse ecosystem. The fund has been said to cover a diversified range of VR projects, these projects include Metaverse, GameFi (Esports and immersive entertainment), NFT, decentralized infrastructure, and other innovative projects that may simply arise. The fund also aims to promote the global mass adoption of blockchain technology, especially in emerging markets in the continent of Africa and South America.

Moreover, a fraction of the “KuCoin Metaverse Fund” has been set aside to be injected into metaverse education programs that can equip young people globally with the necessary skills to explore potentials and opportunities for the upcoming metaverse era. As the next chapter of the Internet is getting set to explode and change the dynamics of we work, connect, shop, entertain, make money, and generally interact. The “KuCoin Metaverse Fund” is launched to accelerate the maturation of set goals for the emergence of blockchain technology by further strengthening the application to a Web3.0 version of the metaverse.

For projects looking to take part in the KuCoin Metaverse Fund, KuCoin Labs has promised to make provision for the following supports, including but not limited to:

  • Project incubation
  • Primary market investment
  • Business partnership support
  • Branding and marketing support
  • Go-to-market Strategy

Projects that are eligible to the Fund must meet the following conditions:

  • Have a strong and committed team
  • Be innovative in technology and/or business model
  • Be at a relatively mature phase of project development
  • Must have a tangible product and use scenario(s)
