Layer3, a trailblazer in providing network and security solutions, has confirmed a significant new partnership with Arbor Networks in West Africa.

Arbor Networks enjoys an international reputation as a premier provider of network security and operational performance for global business networks. Its specialty is safeguarding paramountly demanding and intricate networks from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks and advanced threats.

Arbor’s suite of products equips their customers with unrivaled visibility into their own networks. Simultaneously, through its superior threat intelligence infrastructure, Arbor sharpens their customers’ perception of the broader context of global Internet traffic and emerging threats.

In Nigeria, the rising tide of DDoS attacks and cyber-security breaches has been a grave cause for concern. With an alarming growth rate, 20% of organizations reported attacks of varying degrees last year.

The Akamai State of Internet Security Report shows a staggering 148.55% increase in total DDoS attacks between the last quarter of 2014 and 2015. Moreover, total DDoS attacks saw a 90% growth in the last quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2014. This trend reveals the rapidly escalating danger as the complexity of such attacks also spirals.

Nigeria’s digital landscape mirrors this global threat. Large organizations, service providers, and data centers hosting critical assets are chiefly at risk. Escalating reports of local banks targeted by DDoS attacks underscore the urgent call for proactive solutions to secure customer assets effectively.

Oyaje Idoko, CEO of Layer3 reflected, “As a specialist integrator of next-generation network and security solutions, our mission is to shield our customers from the repercussion of security breaches. We strive to provide them with preventative solutions, operational transparency, and effective reporting to support swift resolution across their national and global networks.

Our ‘detect, resolve and protect’ approach to security enables our customers to exert greater control over applications, devices, and users. We aim to keep them one step ahead of cyber risks, ensuring they’re well-informed about the threats they successfully dodged.”

Bryan Hamman, territory manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Arbor Networks, added, “We’re excited to collaborate with Layer3. The company stands out with its robust focus on innovation, network security, and quality. Such tenets align with Arbor’s firm commitment to the same principles, making Layer3 impeccably positioned to bring these solutions to the market. We eagerly anticipate the fruits of this promising collaboration.”
