Life360 App Get Updates With New No-Show Alert

Life360, a location-tracking software, yesterday announced that it is including, on it app, a new notification feature that alerts users when a friend or relative fails to show up at a specific area at the appointed time. The purpose of this function is to assist users in continuously monitoring someone’s whereabouts to determine whether they arrived at a location securely.

In an effort to ease parents’ anxiety about their kids attending school, Life360 said that it will be implementing a new no-show notification during the back-to-school season. This is an alternative to those regular “where are you?” texts, according to the business.

To enable or activate this new feature and option, users can go to the circle of the person you wish to create an alert for, tap on their profile, and then tap on the “Set a No Show Alert.”

After that, you may specify a time and location to receive a one-time alert in the event that they are late. By hitting “Repeat” and choosing the days of the week, you can also set these notifications to run on a regular basis.

A grace period which is of a few minutes is permitted by the feature before the alarm is triggered.

Families are usually quite concerned about coordination, but this is particularly true during the hectic back-to-school season. According to a statement from Life360’s CMO, Mike Zeman, “new app downloads actually peak during the weeks leading up to the first day of school.”

“No Show Alerts were created for parents or guardian to ease parents’ and guardians’ concerns and reduce the need for them to continuously request about the location of their children or wards. In addition to having a backup alert in case they need to intervene and investigate why someone failed to arrive at their designated location, it serves as a tool to foster trust in their families to get them there.

Anyone in the family can set alerts for someone else if location sharing is enabled, according to Life360’s description of the parent-child use case. Any member of the household can disable or deactivate the location sharing at any moment, the business stated.

All U.S. members will have access to the new no-show capability today, and international members will follow in the upcoming weeks.

The Life360 conducted a survey and provided further internal data about the mood of parents during this season and the potential benefits of technologies like No Show Alerts.

They polled 1,000 American parents between the ages of 10 and 17 who had at least one child enrolled in school, whether it be private, public, or homeschooled. The survey was carried out in 2025 from July 25 to July 29.

The interesting part of the information on their report from the survey conducted are:

About half (47%) of parents who responded to the study said their worry levels are higher in 2025 than they were in prior years.

The most common triggers are complicated family schedules and rising safety worries.

A sizable percentage of parents acknowledged that they have neglected BTS-related responsibilities.

81% of parents claim to have missed crucial phone calls or texts from their children.

69% of people claim to have jumbled their after-school activity schedules.

23% said that they have dropped their children off at the incorrect place for after-school activities in which is far worse than expected.

According to a resounding 96% of respondents, location-sharing apps like Life360 facilitate better family management.

Nearly half of parents (48%) check location-sharing apps everyday or more, and over half (52%) say they check them more regularly during the beginning of BTS season.

39% even refer to it as a “game-changer,” and 97% feel it would be beneficial to have an alert for when a youngster fails to show up at their scheduled time.

Zeman continues, “As parents ourselves, we understand how overwhelming this season can feel.” With safety worries at its core, our data demonstrates that anxiety is at an all-time high. No Show Alerts were developed to reassure families when it counts most, removing one more stress from their lives.
