LinkedIn is branching out on its mission to create stronger and more convenient connections between employers and potential employees. The professional networking giant has developed and released an innovative application named LinkedIn Students. This application, readily available on iOS and Android platforms, is delicately designed to address the distinct needs of students as they transition into the professional world.

The LinkedIn Students application, which mandates having an active LinkedIn account to operate, provides a unique networking platform for students. The new app not only facilitates job connections but also integrates aspects of mentoring and learning. It serves up recommended articles from influencers, which are selected based on the user’s closeness to graduation. Students can expect pieces that feature successful professionals discussing their early career stages and dealing with challenges at a similar age, offering valuable insights.

The app does not stop there; it also encompasses some of the traditional LinkedIn functions. Features like job postings and connections to alumni further enhance its value to students. These features allow students to discover organizations actively recruiting at their alma mater, a factor that could improve their chances of landing their first job effortlessly. Moreover, LinkedIn Students refines job recommendations based on a student’s major, helping them find roles better suited to their specific field of study.

What sets this new application apart from the standard LinkedIn platform is its specialized focus on students. It doesn’t merely serve up the same features. It boasts a superior search algorithm tailored to ensure students are better positioned for exposure to jobs and recruitment professionals.

With the introduction of LinkedIn Students, LinkedIn has essentially transformed into a fully functional online recruitment agency. The platform aims to leverage its extensive user base of over 250 million professionals while catering explicitly to its approximately 40 million registered students. This separate, student-focused application is expected to appeal to more students, encouraging greater participation in what is already seen as the world’s largest professional social network.

As of now, the LinkedIn Students app is exclusively available to users in the United States. However, an international launch is anticipated later this year. When it debuts worldwide, the application will be available for download on both Android by visiting [this page](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linkedin.android.jobs.studentjobseeker&referrer=utm_source%3D42matters.com%26utm_medium%3DWidgetWeb), and iOS via [this link](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/linkedin-students/id1053280562?mt=8).

LinkedIn’s venture into student-specific networking and recruitment could be a game-changer in how students transition from academia to professional life, ensuring no talent goes unnoticed.
