Microsoft Terminates Its Internet Explorer Sooner Than Expected

The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will no longer be available on Microsoft platforms while it has been active for 25 years. The software company revealed Edge as its replacement — this web browser’s in-built encryption serves as a Privacy-first tool. Edge also bolsters faster browsing speed than the current Internet Explorer.

According to Microsoft’s report, Internet Explorer shuts down next year, by June 15. “The future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.”

The current Microsoft web browser has less than a year to serve desktop users, then embraces retirement afterward. It worth noting that Windows aims at maintaining relevance in the software industry, and Edge web browser with fast speed and security is the perfect strategy to maintain balance. Microsoft “didn’t want to leave reliable, still-functioning websites and applications behind,” conforming to the software company.

In contrast to Microsoft’s web browser, Microsoft Edge also boasts of custom-owned “IE mode” that enables users to access legacy webpages exclusively on its OS. The tech company’s report reveals the forthcoming web browser will be faster with tightened security.

Microsoft Edge is not a new product, still, the software company expects its users to fully embrace their preferred browser they labeled to be a soluble compact web tool.

However, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is expected to expire by 2029, according to the deal they have had with other enterprise clients. They have quite a large number of legacy websites and apps that still depend on Microsoft’s web browser. Still, the current browser supports IE mode.
