Microsoft claimed that on October 9, a problem with its suite of productivity software was fixed.
Microsoft 365 stated on its status page on social media site X, formerly Twitter that they had discovered that a section of the network infrastructure in North America was incorrectly configured, leading to an impact.
It had stated that early reports indicated problems gaining access to Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online.
Downdetector, which analyses outages by compiling status data from several sources, showed that the number of users experiencing problems with Microsoft 365 has decreased to 136 as of 5.38pm ET, down from 17,000 earlier.
The estimates provided by Downdetector are based on user-submitted reports; the precise number of impacted users may differ.
More information on this will be share at a later time.
