In an endeavour to further enhance and secure over 500 million Windows 10 devices worldwide, Microsoft has unleashed its much-anticipated Fall Creators update. After a diligent six months of extensive testing, the tech giant has successfully launched this state-of-the-art update, prioritizing deployment on the most recent devices initially.
In their latest blog post, a Microsoft spokesperson advised patience for Windows 10 users, stating– “For the quintessential experience, we recommend awaiting the automatic download of the update rather than manually triggering it. If your device settings are set for automatic updates, there will be no requirement for you to do anything. The update will seamlessly integrate into your ‘Windows Update’ platform.”
The Fall Creators update, officially dubbed “Windows 10 version 1709,” heralds a new chapter for Windows 10. This fresh iteration introduces striking design renovations, along with a refined strategic approach, and considerably elevates the former version’s usability.
Being true to its reputation for continuous innovation, Microsoft has enriched this update with a plethora of new features, primarily aimed at bolstering the performance of Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana and Edge – a proprietary web browser that is integral to Windows 10, Windows 10 mobile, and Xbox One ecosystem. Additionally, substantial improvements have been made to the Photos app, an all-in-one media tool for viewing, editing, organising, and sharing images and videos, standard with both Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems.
An integral focus of the update is to turbocharge the performance and security of the operating system, which now includes support for Mixed Reality (MR). Users whose devices are compatible with the Fall Creators update, who are not keen to wait for the automatic update, have the option to manually check for updates on their PCs, or directly download the update from the software’s official website.
