Motorola’s in-house artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Moto AI, received significant updates. The Lenovo-owned company revealed on Thursday that it is expanding Moto AI with four new AI features: Look and Talk, Playlist Studio, Image Studio, and Next Move. In order to incorporate their products into Moto AI, the company is also collaborating with significant AI firms including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Perplexity. For devices that qualify, the integration also offers a complimentary three-month trial of Perplexity Pro and Google One AI Premium memberships.

Motorola announced in a press post that it is releasing Moto AI to more people and broadening its use case. Moto AI was first made available as an open beta program for a few devices in December 2024. The chatbot is still under beta testing. The most recent Razr and Edge device generations now support Moto AI.

Moto AI and its current features—Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This—were tested by thousands of users, according to the company. Users also expressed a want for “more advice on aligning the right features with the right moments,” according to input they provided. It is currently developing new experiences and improving current ones in response to the input.

One of the new features that qualified Moto artificial intelligence users will see on their device is Next Move. Personalized suggestions will be displayed to users according to the content displayed on their screen. According to the company, the AI function will help users understand more about what artificial intelligence (AI) can do for them and adjust to it by suggesting next steps for them to investigate.

Another recent addition is Playlist Studio, which curates a playlist for users based on on-screen material or a user prompt within the Moto AI app. According to the business, consumers can request that the chatbot create a highly customized playlist. For example, users can request that Moto AI compile a selection of carefully chosen music for a “Pizza night Y2K jams” playlist.

Additionally, Moto AI is introducing a new Image Studio function. This text-to-image generator can produce wallpapers, stickers, avatars, and graphics. Additionally, Moto AI will enable users to share visual information on social media and messaging apps.

At the moment, Look and Talk is limited to the Moto Razr 60 Ultra (called Razr Ultra in the US). Users may gaze at the screen and receive instant support from Moto AI even when the foldable smartphone is in stand or tent mode. Additionally, users can speak to the chatbot and get vocal responses.

Google and Motorola are collaborating to include Gemini and Gemini Live into Motorola’s products. Users of smartphones in the Razr series will also be able to access the chatbot through the external display. In addition, the business is providing a three-month trial of the Google One AI Premium plan, which comes with 2TB of cloud storage, access to the Gemini Advanced and Gemini in Workspace platforms, and more.

Those who buy one of the qualifying devices will be eligible for the complimentary membership. The Motorola Razr 60, Razr 50, Razr 40, Edge 60, and Edge 50 series are among them.

Additionally, the business and Meta are collaborating to offer the Smart Connect app on the Meta Horizon Store. This enables users of Meta Quest to check their favourite apps, messages, and other information directly from the mixed reality headset.

Additionally, Microsoft’s Copilot is being integrated with the Edge 60 Pro and Motorola Razr Ultra. This gives consumers direct access to the Copilot chatbot through Moto AI.

Lastly, Perplexity’s AI search engine is being integrated into Moto AI by the Lenovo-owned business. The “Explore with Perplexity” option will be displayed by the chatbot when users submit web search-based queries. The business’s AI search will produce a thorough response if they choose it.

Additionally, a three-month trial of the Perplexity Pro subscription will be available for any Motorola smartphones released after March 3. Only new Perplexity Pro subscribers will be eligible for this offer.
