MTN Nigeria announced that the Uptime Institute has awarded its Dabengwa Data Centre in Lagos Tier III Certification for Constructed Facility. The company’s goal is to improve digital infrastructure in the most populated country in Africa.

The Uptime Institute was the source of the highly sought-after certification.
Constructed using 96 prefabricated containers in its initial phase, the facility opened in July and is among the biggest prefabricated modular data centres in Nigeria. It combines hybrid cloud capabilities and AI-powered energy optimisation to increase enterprise clients’ dependability.

The accreditation, which is a widely accepted standard for dependability, guarantees several separate power and cooling pathways, allowing for routine maintenance without interfering with services. It is anticipated that Tier III facilities will provide 99.982 percent availability, or no more than 1.6 hours of downtime per year.
Dabengwa is now one of just four facilities in Nigeria to possess both certifications, after MTN’s previous achievement of the Tier III Certification for Design Documentation.
