The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) claims to have finalized plans to modernize its ICT infrastructure and digitize its examination procedure.
In an effort to modernize its ICT infrastructure and digitize its examination procedures, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) have launched a new collaboration.
This was announced in a statement issued in Benin on Sunday and signed by Mr. Uchechukwu Olisah, Assistant Director of Media and Protocol for NABTEB.
The partnership was formally established on April 29 at a meeting with NASENI representatives at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin, according to Dr. Aminu Mohammed, the organization’s registrar and chief executive officer.
This was said by Uchechukwu Olisah, the Board’s Assistant Director, Media and Protocol, in a statement released on Sunday in Benin by NABTEB Registrar/Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Aminu Mohammed.
He mentioned that the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) was a partner in the agreement.
He clarified that the program is a component of NABTEB’s larger endeavors to enhance test security, modernize its operations, and comply with the federal government’s mandate that all exams be fully digitalized by 2026. He also claimed that doing this would decrease processing time, minimize human error, and improve operational efficiency overall.
As a leading national testing organization tasked with registration, question paper creation, distribution, conducting crafts and master crafts, modular trade exams, script marking, processing results, and certificate issuance, NABTEB requires an ICT infrastructure that can fulfill its mandate.
Craft and master craft registration, question paper production, distribution, and administration are all handled by NABTEB, a leading national examination authority.
It needs a strong ICT infrastructure that can fulfil its mandate because it is a modular trade examination, script marking, result processing, and certificate awarding agency, he stated.
Dr. Mohammed emphasized that the FG’s goal for digitization is to upgrade its importance and pointed out that it complies with the president’s and the Ministry of Education’s policy directives.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has a strong commitment to functional education, making it more important to strengthen the board’s ICT capabilities.
In keeping with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, he said, “part of this includes the Minister’s noble drive to ensure the success of the administration’s directive to examination bodies to be fully digitized by mounting Computer Based Test (CBT) from 2026.”
Dr. Mohammed recounted a previous meeting in Abuja with Mr. Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NASENI, at which the organization promised assistance in setting up a digital ICT department at NABTEB.
He reaffirmed NASENI’s commitment by pledging to complete the construction and delivering of a new fully functional ICT facility in six months, he praised Halilu for diligently working to fulfill his support.
The head of NABTEB was hopeful that the collaboration will provide the top-notch digital infrastructure required to preserve the effectiveness, relevance, and integrity of the board’s exams.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bashir Aliyu, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI and Special Adviser on Emerging Technology, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting NABTEB in its transformation.
“We’re here to help you.” Our goal is to assist you with digitization. In NASENI, we did it. Aliyu was cited as saying, “This is the way to go, to help you leapfrog by being reliant on ICT.”
When Dr. Mohammed took office in March, he stated his goal to spearhead the board’s digital transformation.
He said that the move to digital will improve overall operational efficiency, speed up processing times, and decrease human error.
