The Kenyan digital economy happens to be trending lately since Google decided to launch its million dollars data center in Kenya. Unlike other digital companies that debuted their data centres in the commercial zone of Africa, Nigeria, the search giant decided to explore other geographical spaces of Africa. Netflix also followed the idealist investment trail to sign a long-term contract with the Kenyan government to pioneer the Eastern theatre community’s innovation in digitized movie streaming subscriptions.

Netflix signs an MoU with the Kenyan Ministry of ICT, Innovation & Youth Affairs to innovate the local digital theatric media community. The MoU between both parties will support Kenyan characters towards enhanced creativity — a schemed move to accelerate creative development with high-end technology built to display gen-z 4K- HD visuals. Netflix plans to innovate the Kenyan theatrics & Screenwriting marketplace before the MoU with the Kenyan ICT Ministry’s two-year timeline countdown elapses.

At the time the two-year Netflix theatric deal in Kenya ends, local digital media infrastructure will be due to produce modernized creative media theatrics. The Netflix and the Kenyan ICT Ministry MoU is licensed based on governmental interference to officiate consumer protection in the Kenyan entertainment industry and content marketing. The Kenyan ICT Ministry approved Netflix’s two-year movie streaming Innovation proposals as a local investment Netflix debuts in Kenya.

Netflix’s lucrative business strategy feeds the Kenyan entertainment community suspense-filled anticipation of the already co-produced movies by Netflix the movie streaming company plans to premiere sooner than later. For context, neither did Netflix leak the supposed movie title, the movie art cover nor the release date of the seven-star rated movies co-produced by Netflix per IMDb ratings and reviews, Techbooky.africa writes.

According to Netflix, the Kenyan government interference will also support local movie theatre academy developments as a digital media theatrics innovation in media streaming. On behalf of the Kenyan ICT Ministry, the HEVA Fund will supervise the Netflix media streaming business in Kenya and across the Eastern African entertainment sector.

Netflix’s MoU with the Kenyan ICT Ministry is committed to supporting local per character capital endorsement and the media academic endorsement the movie streaming company tagged the “Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund for Africa” backed by HEVA Fund. The likes of the Kenyan Film School and the African Digital Media Institute are entitled to draft thirty potential characters in line with Netflix criteria for qualifying for the hundred thousand dollars movie streaming Kenyan scholarship.

Netflix’s movie streaming investment in Kenya poses as an MoU with the local ICT Ministry to accelerate creative media theatrics innovation — especially the Kenyan movie academies are schemed as major benefactors. The Kenyan Film School and the African Digital Media Institute are entitled to another $200,000 Netflix’s MoU reserved for tuition fees, stipends, theatrics materials, and other miscellaneous expenses.

The Kenyan entertainment sector is on the verge of experiencing movie streaming, movie production, Screenwriting, and demographic studies with high-end technology. The Netflix Kenya media theatrics innovation or MoU deal also features the Italian University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore for Kenyans to study theatrics in Milan. This is a subset of the Netflix Kenyan scholarship to educate creative characters to gain their masters in International Screenwriting and Production (MISP).

According to the Kenyan ICT Ministry, the entertainment license they issued to Netflix to promote local movie streaming subscription business, Netflix is mandated to consort the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) and the Communication Authority (CA) regulatory system. The KFCB and the CA will regulate Netflix’s subscribers on streaming media content in line with parental control for content per age ratings.

It is worth noting that Netflix currently has 222 million active streamers across the globe. Still, Netflix movie streaming subscription as a service has plummeted recently. Techbooky.africa technology analyst tells Netflix’s strategic theatrics innovation in Kenya depicts Netflix’s disregard to sell streaming services in a competitive entertainment market, such as Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Egypt, etc. rather than using cheap labour to bolster its responsiveness in the digital market.
