Isa Pantami, Communications and Digital Economy Minister

The Federal Government has reportedly deployed high-tech in the northern region of Nigeria to curb the outraging occurrence of terrorism. In the state of Zamfara,  the new deployed federal agency is dubbed “Emergency Communication Centre (ECC)” — the existence of this agency has been approved by the government to curb insecurity.

On behalf of the Federal Government, the. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, confirmed a new agency is coming to Zamfara sooner than later. Still, he did not disclose the exact timing project ECC is expected to launch in northern Nigeria.

Pantami said: “This facility will in no small measure aid in the fight against the challenges of insecurity and will also create jobs in the state.” While the ECC is focused on resolving insecurity in the north — starting with Zamfara, unemployment is expected to be curbed as well, as a means to motivate natives of Zamfara to indulge in serving with ECC.

It is a no-brainer that the digital economy is currently in its bloom season whereby more developed countries have fully indulged in accepting digital currency as a legal tender. It worth noting that Pantami’s latest digital security initiative is expected to serve underserved communities in Zamfara.

Matawalle continued to share “gratitude to the Minister for his speedy intervention in ensuring that Mobile Network Operators established their presence and services in areas where they did not previously exist in the state.”

More northerners are expected to have access to more technology in line with “the establishment of ICT Centres in various schools in Zamfara which is encouraging digital skills and engaging the youths positively,” the governor said

Pantami  was recently enlisted amongst other arbitrators by executive order in negotiating to reverse the Twitter ban.

The Social media company is yet to respond to the Nigerian government’s invitation to negotiate terms of its Twitter services in Nigeria.
