On this coming Monday, the 21st of March, tech giant Apple is set to host an exclusive event. A raft of new services and innovative products are rumored to be on the cards for unveiling, with the much-teased iPhone SE speculated to be the star of the show.
This highly anticipated device was recently spotted in a leaked video shot in China, fuelling intrigue among eager iPhone enthusiasts worldwide. Industry expert platform 9to5 Mac, has been sharing potential descriptions of the new edition, adding further to the excitement.
A key point of inquiry is the unusual naming choice – “SE”, rather than the numerical progressions iPhone users have traditionally scored their gadget milestones by. 9to5 Mac suggests that SE might signal a special or enhanced edition, an enticing prospect for admirers of the brand.
The rumored iPhone SE, with its 4-inch screen size, appears to be a hybrid of its predecessors, the iPhone 5s and the 6s. However, due to its resemblance to the iPhone 5s, confirmation of the spotted device’s authenticity remains elusive for now. As per 9to5 Mac, the new device will bear a strong resemblance to the iPhone 5s, albeit with slightly curved edges replacing the chamfered edges.
Reliable sources from 9to5 Mac have shared some compelling features to look forward to:
“The iPhone SE is powered by new internals, promising to upgrade both cameras and camera software. Mirroring the iPhone 6s, the iPhone SE equips users to take and view Live Photos. Without 3D Touch, this feature will be operable by a simple long press on the iPhone SE.”
“The release of iPhone SE will symbolize the end of the iPhone 5s era. Expected to launched within a week of the announcement, the iPhone SE will take the place and price points of the 5s — currently available in 16GB and 32GB models, priced at $450 and $500 respectively.”
With mere hours separating us from the event, the wait for Monday’s big reveal just became a little more bearable.
