In line with Microsoft’s Office team promise, the highly anticipated Office 2016 is now accessible. This news comes just months after the application was made globally available for Mac users.

The newest incarnation of Microsoft Office doesn’t merely offer a fresh face – it packs in an array of exciting features. Among these are:

“Your documents, anywhere: This notable feature brings the integration of cloud storage to your desktop, enabling the creation, opening, editing, and saving of files all in the cloud. Files created and stored in the cloud can be accessed anywhere and through any device. Additionally, Outlook’s new modern attachments make sharing files from OneDrive and configuring recipient permissions seamless.

Collaboration: Microsoft has expanded real-time co-authoring from Office Online to Windows Desktop applications, initially launching with Word. Whether you or your team are working on Word 2016 or Office Online, you have the ability to see others’ edits in real-time.

Smart Applications: The 2016 version has introduced the innovative application ‘Tell Me’, a search tool embedded within Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. This tool elucidates commands that users enter, making navigating Office applications more convenient. Additional standout feature ‘Insights’, powered by Bing, presents relevant information from the web directly within users’ reading platforms.

Please note that Office 2016, with its state-of-the-art features, requires a minimum system configuration to be used effectively. Ideal devices should have at least a display of 1280×800, 3GB of available hard disk space, 2GB of RAM, and DirectX 10 for graphics.

Microsoft’s latest offering runs smoothly on various operating systems, including Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

In terms of language support, Office 2016 extends its reach by providing applications in over 40 languages, including Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Afrikaans.

Now hopping onto pricing, an Office 365 Personal subscription starts from $6.99/1,300 Naira monthly, while the Office 365 Home version is priced slightly higher at $9.99/1,900 Naira monthly.
