OpenAI Makes ChatGPT Plus Free For One Month

OpenAI is giving people a free one-month trial of the ChatGPT Plus membership as part of a temporary marketing campaign. Although it has been established that this deal is available in the US and India, it is probably also available in other nations and areas. This is the second such campaign for Indian subscribers, following the company’s November 2025 one-year free offer of ChatGPT Go. Although the idea of a free first-month subscription trial is not new, this is the first time the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) giant has provided a freebie for its primary membership plan.

Tibor Blaho, AIRPM Lead Engineer, was the first to notice the offer and shared the information in a post on X (previously known as Twitter). The one-month free deal is currently available in India, according to Gadgets 360 employees, and it is also available in the US, according to a BleepingComputer report. By clicking this link, eligible customers can take advantage of the ChatGPT Plus offer. Those in other nations and areas can see if it is available where they are.

People should be able to view this site after clicking the aforementioned link. It’s interesting to note that people who have never bought a subscription previously can also take advantage of this deal. Users can upgrade to Plus even if they already have an active ChatGPT Go membership. Nevertheless, after 30 days, Indian consumers who have access to a 12-month free Go plan will not be able to return to the previous option.

Additionally, before using the trial period, financial information (such as credit card, net banking, or UPI data) must be shared. This implies that the auto mandate may charge a user for the following month if they neglect to unsubscribe.

Notably, the ChatGPT Plus tier includes larger memory for improved context retention, access to Codex for code authoring and support, priority access and longer rate limitations to the company’s most recent AI models, and video generation powered by Sora. The ChatGPT Plus subscription normally costs Rs. 1,999 per month (approximately $121.57).

The subscription changes according to OpenAI cut across all its pricing tiers.

For ChatGPT Free, it offers restricted access to the flagship GPT-5.2 model and will soon start running ads.

For ChatGPT Go ($8/mo), this is a more recent, inexpensive tier that was made available worldwide in January 2026 and has larger limits than the free version but still has advertisements.

With just $20 per month, ChatGPT Plus offers more RAM space, larger message limits for GPT-5.2, and no advertisements.

For ChatGPT Pro, its subscription fee is $200/month and this provides unrestricted use of Pro-level models, special features like Pulse, and the highest priority access.

It is interesting to note that ChatGPT users can link a working payment card for the majority of free trials. Unless cancelled, the subscription will automatically renew at the regular $20/month rate after 30 days.

It is also great to know that veterans and military professionals can confirm their status on the official veterans claim page; U.S. servicemembers and veterans within a year of separation are eligible to receive a complimentary year of ChatGPT Plus. Also, OpenAI’s education site may provide free access to verified students.
